Classification System Guide
System Explanation: Under the Blomfield system these marks were ExD-1 etc. While reluctant to introduce another coding system, the one used here lists marks under the Town Name and then by the Keyword(s) used within the mark.
The town name is grouped under the common English spelling. The keywords give equal weight to Arabic as well as European spellings. Under each mark is the code used which should be used with the town name (e.g., Cairo-D4.k). After the main code, other letters represent other words used.
